Frotox cooling method

Frotox cooling method

Frotox cooling method is one of new cosmetic treatments. Sooner or later, everyone develops wrinkles. When they first become noticeable varies, as the process depends on many factors. Genetic predisposition, individual lifestyle and, ultimately, diet are just some of the aspects on which the development of wrinkles depends. In principle, wrinkles can be categorised into different types. Expression lines, for example, occur because our face is always in motion. We laugh, frown and sometimes wrinkle our nose: in the long term, these gestures leave their mark. Crow’s feet, on the other hand, only form in the eye area, and with their radial structure they are actually somewhat reminiscent of the foot of the bird that gives them their name. And then there is a third variant: dryness lines form when the skin lacks moisture over the long term.

Frotox as cooling method: wrinkle-free in just a few minutes thanks to the cold process

Frotox is considered a recommended alternative to Botox and is being used in more and more professional beauty institutes. This cold procedure can be used to eliminate mimic wrinkles in the forehead area. The name of the treatment method is derived from the English term freeze and the term Botox. And the cold does indeed play a major role here. Thin needles filled with liquid nitrogen are inserted into the area of the forehead to be treated. This cools the surrounding nerves down to minus 70 degrees, which has the effect of immobilising the muscles that cause the annoying forehead wrinkles with their movements. The frotox cooling method takes around 30 minutes, and as the injections can be relatively painful, a local anaesthetic is administered. The effect is immediate and lasts for two to three months.

The advantage over Botox

The face does not appear rigid like a mask afterwards, as the cold therapy only anaesthetises one nerve, but the other nerves continue to allow natural residual movement. In addition, unlike Botox, nitrogen is not a neurotoxin, so the application is gentler. However, minor side effects are to be expected in the first few days. Minimal bruising or slight swelling can sometimes occur at the injection sites, but this can usually be easily masked. If necessary, the Frotox cold procedure can of course be repeated. Incidentally, it has been authorised in Germany only since 2014, so long-term studies are not yet available.

What is important after the Frotox cooling method treatment?

After the treatment, the face should be pampered with high-quality skincare products. Good make-up covers individual traces of the treatment so that puncture marks and redness become invisible. High-quality day and night care is also important, as the skin still needs plenty of moisture. Daily cosmetics should therefore include sophisticated products with valuable ingredients. Retinol, peptides, hyaluronic acid, coenzyme Q10 and antioxidants, which are essential anyway, play a particularly important role in this context.

The Frotox cold treatment: toxin-free to a wrinkle-free forehead

Although there are as yet no reliable long-term studies that provide information about possible side effects with frequent use, the Frotox cold treatment is also regarded by leading experts as a worthwhile alternative to Botox, as it deliberately avoids the use of neurotoxins. The immediate effectiveness and the effect that lasts up to three months are further reasons in favour of this method. The effect can be extended somewhat and the side effects reduced with high-quality care products.
