Beautiful through sleep

Beautiful through sleep, Melatonin and Health

Beautiful through sleep: is it really possible?

Beautiful through sleep: this is not a pipe dream, but a fact, because it is not for nothing that the term beauty sleep has become established. We can really become beautiful through sleep. However, this does not always work and it does not happen by itself: we must actively contribute to it. But why do we need sleep at all?

Why sleep makes us beautiful

Our body and mind urgently need sleep for regeneration. While we snuggle comfortably under the covers, important repair processes take place in our cells. At the same time, metabolic processes are optimized. In our brain, cleanup and remodeling work takes place, and the connections between our nerve cells are readjusted, so to speak. Our immune system is strengthened, too: just think of the saying “sleeping yourself healthy”, it is quite justified. In addition, a healthy sleep promotes muscle growth. It can also increase performance and even protect against obesity, because too little sleep slows down the metabolism and affects the hunger hormone ghrelin. We also become beautiful through sleep because our skin cells are renewed at night through the release of special growth hormones.

They divide up to eight times faster at night than during the day!

These hormones are also responsible for collagen formation.

Sleep makes you beautiful – this has also been proven by studies

As a study by the Karolinska Institute near Stockholm (Sweden) shows, the effect is even clearly visible to outsiders. For this study, around 25 test subjects were photographed twice: once after five hours and once after eight hours of sleep. 65 objective people were then asked to assess the photos. The astonishing result: they described the test subjects as healthier and more attractive after the eight-hour sleep.

Insufficient sleep promotes skin aging

Many of us have probably noticed after a sleepless night when looking in the mirror that our skin appears sallow, lifeless and saggy. If we consistently get insufficient sleep or if our deep sleep phases are repeatedly interrupted, our skin becomes thinner and wrinkles form. So, we become beautiful through sleep when we sleep long and well enough.

And if we give our skin an extra portion of care before going to bed, because at night the pores widen, the skin barrier becomes more permeable, and active ingredients can penetrate much better. However, not everyone is blessed by nature with deep and healthy sleep. For others, external factors play a role. Stress, the famous carousel of thoughts, a lavish meal before going to bed: all of this can prevent a person from sinking into the realm of dreams.

Fortunately, however, there are aids to help these people, too, to wake up refreshed and beautiful after a good night’s sleep.

Sleeping off beauty: What can help?

Sleeping pills should generally be viewed critically. They often have significant side effects, are addictive and usually do not provide good sleep quality. There are also plenty of sensible alternatives. Melatonin, for example. This hormone is responsible for the sleep-wake cycle in our body and has a significant influence on whether and when we can sleep. It forms the counterpart to the stress hormone cortisol and is produced in the pineal gland. Molecules that react to light in our eyes control its production: melatonin is released at dusk. Darkness is therefore very important if we want to wake up feeling refreshed. A sleep mask in combination with melatonin can therefore be a good support.

Relaxed and beautiful through sleep

On the other hand, if you are plagued by worries at night, are under stress and tension or are restless inside, you should use a soothing pillow spray. It consists of essential oils, relaxes and contributes to a greater sense of well-being. The main ingredient is almost always lavender, because the plant has a stress-reducing, anxiety-relieving effect and has a dampening influence on the nervous system. This often makes falling asleep easier, which in turn creates ideal conditions for a beautiful sleep. Many people also like to take their pillow spray with them on vacation or on a business trip. The familiar scent promotes falling asleep in a foreign environment and contributes to nightly relaxation.

Sleeping beauty

To ensure that your skin looks fresh and beautiful after a good night’s sleep, apply a rich night serum with peptides before going to bed. Depending on its composition, it can supply the skin with valuable moisture, as well as soothing, firming and evening out the complexion. The effect literally unfolds while you sleep, and the result is usually already noticeable and visible the next morning.

Beautiful through sleep with regenerating masks

A mask can also support the skin’s nightly regeneration. So-called overnight face masks stay on the skin overnight and can thus take effect undisturbed. Ceramides, squalane and phytosphingosine are particularly suitable as active ingredients. The latter, for example, have an inhibitory effect on bacterial growth and thus regulate the skin flora. They also strengthen the natural skin barrier. Squalane protects the skin against moisture loss and makes it supple, so you really can sleep your way to beauty. Ceramides are known to have excellent anti-aging properties and can repair the skin structure, i.e. they have the ability to alleviate fine lines and wrinkles. So not only do users get more beauty sleep, they often also look younger and fresher.

Sleeping renewal

A special repair mask with exosomes and an antioxidant complex (e.g. with lycopene, vitamin C, vitamin E and astaxanthin) also helps the skin to recover during sleep. The ingredients are effective precisely when the skin starts its nightly renewal process. There is hardly a better time of day to pamper yourself.

Sleeping care

But it’s not just your complexion that benefits from a little night-time TLC; the rest of your skin and hair are grateful for some nourishing support as well. A gentle and relaxing skin and hair oil is an ideal way to get more than just a beautiful face from sleeping. The skin feels wonderfully soft the next morning, and it shows. The hair becomes shiny and supple.

Beautiful through sleep: actually quite simple

When the skin runs its repair program at night, high-quality cosmetic products can support the processes and improve their effects. Your hair can also be perfectly cared for while you sleep. The term beauty sleep is by no means an old wives’ tale! Cosmacon would be happy to develop modern and highly effective formulations for you – please feel free to contact us.
