Quinoa oil

Chenopodium Quinoa

Many people automatically associate quinoa with cereals, but this is not correct. The quinoa plant belongs to the same plant family as spinach and is botanically a goosefoot. In its region of origin, South America, however, it replaces the classic cereals … and has been doing so for over 6000 years. In terms of soil and water conditions, the quinoa plant is very frugal. And quinoa is also becoming increasingly popular in our cuisine. The reason: on the one hand, the grains are completely gluten-free, but on the other hand, they are also extremely rich in important nutrients. So rich, in fact, that the quinoa oil extracted from the grains is also becoming increasingly important in cosmetics.

Quinoa oil in cosmetics

Quinoa oil contains valuable amino acids that protect our skin from harmful environmental influences and dehydration and at the same time provide it with plenty of moisture. The oil is also extremely high in protein, calcium, phosphorus and iron.

Regular use of cosmetic products with quinoa oil keeps the skin elastic and supple. The oil refines the texture of the skin and thus contributes to an even and healthy complexion. However, it is not only suitable for normal skin:

Quinoa oil has a pleasantly soothing effect on irritated and particularly sensitive skin.

But quinoa oil is also an optimal choice for hair care products. It balances out dryness and gives the hair structure a natural strength. The oil is now even used in tints, because it provides a silky shine and makes the colour brilliance shine even brighter. If it is integrated into the formula for a shampoo, the hair is easier to comb after washing.

The fingernails and hands can also be perfectly cared for with the oil. Hands feel wonderfully soft after using appropriate products, fingernails look well-groomed and supple. A special plus: nail balm containing quinoa oil even helps to regenerate the nails so that they no longer break so easily.

Quinoa oil is often combined with wheat germ oil in cosmetic products. Together, both ingredients contribute optimally to the regeneration of the cells as well as to the supply of the skin cells with oxygen.
