Serum for eyelashes

Serum for eyelashes, hair growth

Our eyelashes also need regular care. A serum for eyelashes ensures that they remain thick, supple and long by supplying them with important nutrients. Otherwise, they may break off, fall out or become thinner and thinner over time.

The daily use of mascara is not enough to care for them. On the contrary, mascara can even damage the hairs. For example, if the products are of inferior quality or the mascara is not carefully removed in the evening before going to bed. As the mascara makes the lashes very stiff and hard, they break easily when the face rubs against the pillow.

A high-quality serum for the eyelashes is best suited for care. It is rich in valuable nutrients that ensure optimum nourishment of the fine hairs and contribute to a thick and healthy lash line. But what does ‘high-quality eyelash serum’ mean? What should and shouldn’t it contain?

The serum for eyelashes with hyaluronic acid

We are all familiar with hyaluronic acid from skincare and especially from the anti-ageing segment. But the active ingredient is also a real boon for eyelashes. It provides the hairs with a good dose of moisture, which makes them beautifully supple. This prevents them from breaking so easily. Hyaluronic acid also stimulates eyelash growth. If you use the hyaluronic acid serum for eyelashes regularly, you will also notice that the hairs gradually become darker and therefore more visible.

Eyelash serum with hormones: don’t use it!

A serum for eyelashes with hormones admittedly has a quick and impressive effect. But apart from the results, the products also have downsides.

Prostaglandin, the main ingredient in a serum for eyelashes with hormones, also has many undesirable side effects. It often irritates the eyes. They burn, water and turn red. Even temporary visual disturbances are not uncommon. Although these usually disappear again, such a serious effect should of course not occur. Other users have reported unsightly dark circles under the eyes after regular use of the hormone-containing serum. In addition, the prostaglandin can possibly interfere with our body’s own hormone balance and cause irregularities there. A risk that no woman should take! For pregnant and breastfeeding women, a serum for eyelashes with hormones must remain taboo anyway, as it has not yet been sufficiently clarified how the ingredients affect the embryo or the baby.

A serum for eyelashes without hormones works just as well, but it takes longer for a visible effect. In the interests of our health, however, we should gladly accept the short ‘waiting time’!

The serum for eyelashes with hair-nourishing active ingredients

There is a whole range of highly effective substances that are suitable for eyelash serums and are also completely harmless. Biotin and panthenol, for example: they moisturise the hairs, supply them with nutrients and stimulate the hair follicles so that the eyelashes grow better and faster.

Proteins, collagen and plant-based oils such as argan, jojoba and almond oil also have an undeniably positive effect on eyelashes by prolonging the growth cycle and keeping the hairs soft. They then appear to grow thicker, gain more volume and can become several millimetres longer. Just like a serum for eyelashes with hyaluronic acid, all you need is a little patience when applying the product. However, the active ingredients do not interfere with our hormone balance and have no other harmful side effects.
